I think Teasure Island will be about a boy whoes father owns a hotel. They then will get a mysterious visitor who is hiding from an unwanted sailor, soon after the boy and the mysterious man will set out on a large ship to find Treasue Island, when they get there they will find a cave that will be filled with gold. Along the way they will face many adventures and many desperate pirates who are willing to steal the map for treasure Island and the gold.
Stevenson. R, 1883, Treasure Island, Puffin Groups. London, England
Bill(Captain) Captain is a brown old seaman, a tall, strong heavy, nut-brown man; his tarry pigtail falling over the shuolders of his soiled blue coat; his hands ragged and scarred, with black, broken nails; and the sabre cut across one cheek, a dirty, livid white, he sang in the high, old tottering voice that seemed to have been tuned and broken at the capstan bars.

1. Describe the time and place in which your novel is set. What clues within the book tell us this?
Treasure Island is set on a beautiful tall Island that is all covered in different coloured trees apart from the thick layer of golden sand around it.
I think Treasure Island was set in the 1800's I can tell because of the very confusing language that Robert Lois Stevenson used in the book and the carriages instead of cars.
Now is set in Western Australia in an old, hot little town. I believe Now was set now days(2000's)
2. Who are the main characters in your book? List the names and a short description of their personality traits.
Jim Hawkins: Jim is the narrator he expresses himself as a sensitive confused boy but also as a brave and courageous child you is stranded on Treasure Island surrounded by horrible mean looking pirates, and not knowing what to do or where to go.
Long John Silver:Long John Silver: Long John Silver is a scornful pirate who doesn’t care about anyone except for himself on the outside but on the inside he has a real soft spot for Jim and will do anything for him even if it means risking his own life, as you can tell if you read the book that John Silver does have a heart and is kind towards people who treat him well and people who come to his liking.
Dr Livesley: Dr Livesley is a curious and intelligent man, he is committed and kind and never goes off task, Dr Livesley worries for Jim a lot because of what Jim has been through, Dr Livesley is determined to do everything he can to help Jim and his ship crew.
Zelda: Zelda is the narrator she is a very anxious and curious girl but a very determined girl who hopes to live up to the name Zelda and find more about her grandfathers, Felix, past and why he is so protective of her.
Felix: Felix is an 80 year-old man who has grown-up thinking of the many wonderful things he has achieved but he still has the daunting memories of his childhood and the Nazis. Felix is growing old and he is very scared and protective of his granddaughter, Zelda, who comes and stays with him, will Felix feel happier while Zelda comes to stay with him.
3. Describe the significant relationships between the main characters.
Jim and John Silver: Jim and John Silver have a very strange relationship because one minute they are like father and son and the next minute they're enemy's, in the end John Silver goes away and Jim explains how Silver was a big influence on him and how he'll never forget him.
Captain Flint and Captain Bill: As I can tell from reading the book Bill and Flint have a very strong relationship from the past because Captain Flint Gives Bill a map to his treasure(on Treasure Island) During the book Bill talks about hoe much he learnt from Flint and how much he loved him even though Flint was known as the most blood thirstiest pirate of the sea he still has a loving heart towards his crew and most of all Captain Bill.
Dr Livesley and Squire: Dr livesley and squire have a very unusual relationship, the aren't friends but they aren't enemies, they both influence eachother and don't really express their relationship in the book but you can tell that deep down inside the really care about eachother and don't like separated no matter where or when.
Zelda and Felix:Zelda and Felix are very close for a granddaughter and grandfather the both share a relationship where they can tell each other anything and one or the other would understand. In the book Zelda is getting bullied and she doesn't what Felix to find out but he guesses anyway and helps Zelda to stop the bullying and of course Felix knows how she feels because of the Nazis.
Zelda and Jumble:Even though Zelda's a girl and Jumbles an old crippled dog, they still share a long heart-warming relationship. Even though Zelda goes through some really hard times Jumble is still there to guide her through. Zelda and Jumble are so close that Zelda would go in to a fire just to save Jumble and Jumble would most likely do the same for her.
Zelda and Tonia:Zelda and Tonia aren't the best of friends in fact Tonia bullies Zelda a lot but in the end they become friends. The reason Tonia bullies Zelda is because Tonia's little brother(Zelda's friend) gets bullied a lot at school because of his asthma, and Tonia wants to make sure everybody bullies Zelda instead of her little brother. In the end Zelda and Tonia talk it over and Tonia realizes that what she's doing is completely wrong and then they become okay friends!!!!!
4. Who is your favourite character and why?Or - Who is the character that you can most closely relate to and why?

I closely relate to Jim the most because he tries to look at the positives when everything seems negative (just like me), he also is confident but he's shy (like me).
Jumble:
Jumble is my favourite character because he always looks at the positives of things even when it's a bad situation. Jumble is also a really funny, crazy and hypo dog who gaurds Zelda and Felix with his life no matter what. 6. Is your book an example of ‘ classic’ or ‘modern’ literature ? You must use evidence to back up your stance. For example; has your book stood the ‘test of time’? Are there theme’s that will transcend time?
Treasure Island is writtin in classic literature. There are a lot of words in Treasure Island that people used to use in the 1800's they are mostly words that I don't understand. Robert Louis Stevenson used a lot pirate words in his book, he also used alot of slang in Treasure Island, for example: ain't, and that him who comes alone.
Now is writtten in modern literature. Zelda uses alot of aussie slang in this book and so do the other characters exept for Felix who sometimes speaks in different languages like German. Now is a very easy book to read.

Treasure Island
Treasure Island is an adventure book set in the 1800's on a tall beautiful Island covered in tropical trees known as Treasure Island. Treasure Island can be a really hard book to read because of the classic literature used, but you will eventually get used to it. Treasure Island can get a bit violent through out the book and it can be sad.
Treasure Island is mainly about a boy, Jim, who sets out to find the treasure that lies on Treasure Island. When arriveshe finds that he will have to chose a side either Captain Smollet's side or Captin Flint's side.
I enjoyed reading Treasure Island and I didn't because some parts can be really boring yet the others can be really exciting. I found it really hard to get into this book, it didn't make sense at the beginning, the more I read it the more it made sense and I liked it. I probably wouldn't read a book like Treasure Island because it's really not the kind of book I would normally read.
Now
Now is a really fascinating book set in the year 2000 (Today) in western Australia in a little, quiet and humid town. Now is a really quick easy book to read but so much happens while reading it, you will get really sad when it's over because the author could've added more to the story. Now is a really sweet and sensitve book with lots of sad stories in it.
Now is mainly about a girl Named Zelda who is determined to find out more about her grandfathers (Felix's) past and why it has had such a big impact on him. There are also a lot of little problems along the way the can be easily solved but nobody looks for it hard enough.
I really enjoyed reading Now. It's a really good book it has a lot of stories to it and it is really easy to read and get in to. Now is a book that I would normally read (I've read all the other books of the series) so I guess it was pretty easy for me to read, but I'm not saying you won't enjoy reading it.
Gleitzman. M, 2010, Now, The Puffin Groups, London, England.
Zelda(Felix's Granddaughter):
Zelda is a 11year old Curious, Shy girl who intends to discover more about her Grandfathers, Felix, childhood and what he faced. Zelda is jealous of felix's bestfriend, Zelda, and is determined to be just like her but she is also afraid of the things she will have to face to get there.
